In early 2024, BNP Paribas encountered an urgent issue at the Botanic Tower in Brussels. Their coworking spaces needed reliable internet connectivity to support daily operations, and FlatTurtle was called in to address the challenge.
BNP Paribas urgently required a solution to ensure uninterrupted service for coworking users occupying two floors of the Botanic Tower. The previous coworking provider had suddenly discontinued service, jeopardizing business continuity for users relying on robust and reliable internet connectivity. The challenge was to seamlessly transition the network infrastructure without disrupting daily operations.
FlatTurtle stepped in with a comprehensive plan to address the immediate and long-term connectivity needs of BNP’s coworking space in the Botanic Tower.
Emergency 4G Solution: To bridge the gap caused by the sudden loss of internet service, FlatTurtle deployed 4G solutions, ensuring that coworking users experienced minimal disruption for a few days while permanent solutions were implemented.
Redundant Internet Lines: Recognizing the importance of reliable internet connectivity, FlatTurtle installed two separate 1 Gbit/s internet lines to provide redundancy. This setup ensured that any potential issues with one line would not affect the overall connectivity, maintaining continuous service for users.
WiFi Infrastructure Upgrade: The existing WiFi access points were replaced with FlatTurtle’s solution, installing 28 units across the two floors with a mix of Pro and Enterprise access points. This upgrade provided improved coverage and performance, essential for a high-density coworking environment.
Switches Installation and Future Expansion: FlatTurtle installed switches across the two active floors, with preparatory work completed for a potential third-floor expansion, ensuring scalability and readiness for future needs.
Seamless Network Migration: The team meticulously managed the migration from the previous network to FlatTurtle’s infrastructure. This included configuring and reconnecting VoIP phones, internet-connected UPS systems, and other essential devices.
High Availability for Specialized Users: Some coworking space users had unique networking setups and required only a robust internet connection. FlatTurtle provided a simple high-availability solution, allowing these users to maintain their custom network configurations while benefiting from reliable internet access.
Dedicated Support for High-Density Areas: One user faced performance issues due to a high-density setup and extensive use of metal furnishings. FlatTurtle provided dedicated first-line support, addressing these challenges to optimize WiFi performance and ensure a satisfactory user experience. Changes were made to stabilize wireless performance and guarantee seamless connectivity.
